Polyvine is a family-run business with family values at our core, and all our products are researched and manufactured on-site at our UK premises. A bloodline of trust, integrity and hard work runs through our business, alongside a commitment to quality, sustainability and employee wellbeing.

For nearly 40 years, we’ve supplied the painting and decorating industry with premium varnish, decorative finishes, wood oils and coatings that are relied upon for a superior finish. Polyvine is the go-to varnish for painters, decorators and trade stockists, give a high-end, long-lasting and superior finish, every time.

Polyvine Ltd has always been independently owned, and was started by Peter and Anne Wells in 1986. To this day, every single Polyvine product is researched and manufactured in the UK at our premises in Somerset, using the latest technology and the highest levels of quality control.

Since our inception, trust, integrity and hard work have run through the core of our family-run business. Today, Polyvine is a global business, supplying homes and businesses worldwide with premium quality varnish, decorative finishes, wood oils and coatings.

Now led by Managing Director Ian Wells, three generations of the Wells family and extended family work at the offices and factory site in Cheddar. Ian runs the day-to-day operations and sales, with his wife and children working in various areas of the business. Now Technical Director, Peter Wells works directly alongside his grandson in the laboratory, sharing his years of knowledge and passing on his wealth of experience.

Polyvine continues to be one of the leading innovators in specialist water-based decorative paint systems for over 30 years, with an ongoing commitment to customer service and sustainability.
