Metallic Makeover

Staircase Restoration

Look at the incredible work of Stuart Yates Decor who has painstakingly restored this beautiful staircase at Tapton Hall in Sheffield.

Originally, Tapton Lodge was the home of the Mary Shore, grandparent of Florence Nightingale, but in 1855 the Sheffield steel master Edward Vickers acquired it and the hall was built as a grander home on the site.

In 1965 the Sheffield Masonic Hall Company acquired the house and completely refurbished it in 1967 to serve as a venue and meeting place.

Stuart was commissioned to restore the staircase back to its former glory, and the client was extremely pleased with the result.

He has used our metallic paint range to help achieve this stunning look, with pale gold being used on the mouldings and antique gold on railings.

Stuart even had to work around the venue being in use, so had to use his project management skills to get the job done around various events!

We love the final result, and are pleased Polyvine gets to play a part in the history of this stunning venue.

Please check out Stuart’s work on his website.
