This high-quality Polyvine decorative effects product produces a cracked varnish effect for a traditional aged finish.
By using a simple two part (base coat and top coat) clear acrylic system, this varnish faithfully reproduces the regular crazed pattern associated with old porcelain glazes, just like in the project pictured.
Craquelure (French: craquelure; Italian: crettatura) is a fine pattern of dense cracking formed on the surface of materials. It can be a result of drying, shock, aging, intentional patterning, or a combination of all four.
The crackle effect produced by craquelure can be accentuated with a crack highlighter, available in either white or dark brown for a truly aged finish.
Please note that you need to buy both the base coat and the top coat to create the effect. Just choose these products from our range.
